Ways to align international support with actual humanitarian needs and recovery-phase priorities, as well as ways to mobilize the resources necessary for their implementation thereby contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of the humanitarian response and ensuring its sustainability were the main topics of discussion at the roundtable meeting held on February 17 in Damascus, which brought together the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and representatives from a number of diplomatic missions and international donor agencies.
The President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Kate Forbes, highlighted key points during her press remarks at the conclusion of her four-day visit.
