Ahmad Hamada

He was born in the town of Qamhana in the Hama countryside in 1986.
He was an employee at the Technical Services Directorate, and when the Syrian revolution began in 2011, he left his job and joined the peaceful demonstrations. He then worked to document violations committed during the revolution, as well as the battles and massacres in the old neighborhoods of Homs, particularly in the Baba Amr neighborhood.
He was killed on June 16, 2012, by regime snipers while filming scenes of shelling in the Bab Tadmur neighborhood of Homs. Activist Abdulhadi Qomqali tried to rescue him and pull his body to safety, but the sniper killed him as well; the last thing Qomqali captured through his lens was the moment he was struck and fell to the ground.
