The Syrian Civil Defense announced that the war debris removal and mine clearance teams at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management

The Syrian Civil Defense announced that the war remnants removal and mine action teams at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management carried out 981 operations to remove unexploded ordnance during the first half of 2026, as part of their efforts to protect civilians from the dangers of war remnants.

In a post on its official Telegram channels, the Civil Defense today that specialized teams conducted 369 non-technical surveys to identify areas contaminated with war remnants and assess their level of danger, in addition to 631 awareness sessions aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of war remnants and ways to prevent them, noting that these sessions targeted various segments of society in the affected areas.

The Civil Defense noted that specialized teams continue to destroy unexploded ordnance in accordance with approved procedures, ensuring the protection and safety of civilians, and emphasized that these efforts are part of securing affected sites and verifying that they are free of war remnants, thereby helping to create conditions for civilians to return safely to their homes, and to minimize the risks to their lives.
